Biography
Paul Berwin’s experience derives from a long career as a solicitor as well as a business founder, dealing initially with very wide-ranging matters including civil litigation, commercial contracts and property, but for the last 25 years as a practising solicitor dealt dealing exclusively with commercial, technology and corporate affairs, informed also by a strong understanding of property issues. As a hugely experienced commercial and corporate lawyer and founder and formerly CEO of Yorkshire solicitors Berwins, he has advised companies, shareholders and business partners in the UK and internationally with commercial agreements and business matters.
In particular, he has dealt extensively with owner managed businesses in their business affairs, company structures and agreements, and transactions, both the corporate affairs and the commercial agreements of technology businesses. His clients have included NASDAQ listed companies and UK companies with an international reach, and his transactional work includes the creation and dissolution of shareholder arrangements, and corporate acquisitions and sales particularly in the range £1 million -30 million.
He is one of the founders of the Society for Computers and Law Mediation scheme, and an approved mediator under that scheme https://www.scl.org/scl-mediation-scheme-sclm/. He is a CEDR accredited mediator (since 2022), and a member of the 2026 Civil Mediation Council Launchpad Cohort, being a CMC full member.
