Biography
Andrew has been a mediator for over 15 years. He is friendly and easy to work with, and prefers mediating to his many other roles in dispute resolution over the last 35 years (Barrister, Solicitor, Judge, Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Mediator), He started his legal life aged 17 as a solicitor's clerk in Birkenhead in a gap year before University. Since then then has worked at every level from Small Claims in the County Court to the highest court in the UK, and also internationally - on cases from a few hundred pounds to hundreds of millions. As a Solicitor he worked mainly for Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester firms for 18 years. In 2007 he jumped ship to the Bar, and became a Barrister. Along the way he worked in the County Court and High Court as a Deputy District Judge in the early 2000s. He has been a Chartered Arbitrator since 2008, and a panel construction Adjudicator for over 20 years. Although as a Barrister he is now a member of Gatehouse Chambers in London, he will often be found back home in the North and is available for mediation anywhere in the country.
